TASMANIAN photographer, Mark (Doc) Doran, settled in Queenstown after a career as a full-time soldier and military reporter with the Australian Army.

With 13 operational deployments including war-like, peacekeeping, maritime security and disaster-relief, he has worked as an infantry soldier or as a military reporter in more than a dozen countries.

​

“I’m incorporating my passion for fine art photography with the intriguing past and harsh wilderness of Tasmania’s West Coast.

 

“My images play an important role in my creative expression while my fine art photography often takes the form of narrative portraiture.

 

“I blend styles exploring my vision of the landscape or my models, exposing their true nature with an emphasis on lighting, form, composition and emotion.

“To me, fine art nude photography in either nature or the studio is the highest disciplines of photography - a perfect fusion of artistry and science.”
